Boris P. Kopnin, Ph.D., D.Sc.

Boris P. Kopnin

Dr. Kopnin is Head of the Laboratory of Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics at the Institute of Carcinogenesis, Cancer Research Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. He received his Ph.D. in experimental oncology from the Blokhin Cancer Research Center and his D.Sc. from the Koltsov Institute of Developmental Biology. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Cancer Research Center's Laboratory of Cytogenetics and a Senior Researcher in its Laboratory of Tumor Cell Genetics. He has been a Visiting Professor at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas, and at the State University of New York in Stony Brook. He received an HHMI International Research Scholar grant in 1995 and in 1997 was awarded a Presidential Stipend from the Russian government.
