Melissa J. Moore, Ph.D.

Melissa J. Moore

Dr. Moore is also Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester. She received her B.S. degree in chemistry and biology from the College of William and Mary and her Ph.D. degree in biological chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She began working on RNA metabolism during her postdoctoral training with Phillip Sharp at MIT. Dr. Moore's honors include the Searle Scholars Award and a David and Lucile Packard fellowship.



RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUMMARY:

Melissa Moore is interested in pre-mRNA splicing, the effects of splicing on mRNP structure and function, and ribosome quality control.
